Each March — as we observe Women's History Month — I find myself in quiet reflection. Not only on the women who came before us, but on the inheritance we carry — and the future we are, in turn, entrusted to shape.
To lead a women-led publishing house has never felt like a proclamation to be made — but rather, a life to be lived. It reveals itself in the voices we choose to elevate, in the stories we preserve, and in the enduring beauty we commit to print. At benton buckley books, our work has always been guided by permanence — by the belief that what we create should not simply exist within a moment, but extend beyond it, contributing something lasting to the cultural record.
That philosophy feels especially resonant as we prepare to unveil the newest volume in our New View architectural series — a hardbound meditation titled Women of Architecture: a collective of unique voices. Within its pages, the architects featured remind us that shaping the future is not bound to a single expression — it may unfold quietly, or with undeniable force — but it is always driven by vision, by clarity, and by an unwavering sense of purpose.
To run a women-led business today is to stand within a continuum — one shaped by women who built, led, and created long before us. Their influence is not distant; it is present, living, and deeply felt.
It is an honor — and a responsibility — to carry those voices forward.
P.S. — I would be remiss not to acknowledge the extraordinary women within this company — whose talent, devotion, and quiet brilliance shape everything we do. Their contributions are, to me — and to those we serve — nothing short of breathtaking. I see it, I feel it, and I am endlessly moved by it.
