Forgive me in advance — I’ve never been very good at saying things briefly, particularly when the subject is something I love. And I love this work.
There are moments in culture when the energy shifts — not loudly, but deliberately. A quiet charge in the air. A shared understanding.
As March approaches and our gatherings in London come into view, I feel that shift deeply. To stand shoulder to shoulder with a global community of publishers, designers, editors, and visionaries is not simply an industry ritual — it is the moment when the talent within our books enters a wider conversation and finds new reach.
Across the exhibition floor at the London Book Fair, conversations begin in small ways — a handshake, a thoughtful exchange over a beautifully bound spine — and evolve into something more lasting. In an era that moves quickly and forgets quickly, I remain committed to permanence. To craft. To curation. To the belief that books still matter.
Beauty still matters.
Intention matters.
The book remains a cultural object.
On March tenth, we will host a curated wine reception at the London Book Fair with the Independent Publishers Group — a gathering rooted not in transaction, but in conversation, collaboration, and the enduring belief that books are vessels of hope and community. I will carry with me the voices within /be-spōk/: a philosophy of beauty, modish: the book of great design, and Jenny Garrigues: A Romance with Design — volumes that honor the architects and designers who entrust us with their life’s work.
We are also honored to join London Design Week at the London Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour, where Jaipur Rugs will host a conversation with Sharlene Young and Jenny Garrigues — a dialogue I will moderate, exploring design as philosophy, memory, and lived experience.
Thoughtful, layered, and alive with perspective — exactly where we like to be.
I am proud of what we are building. Thoughtful. Bold. Deliberate.
And entirely our own.
