“Successful projects are not only artistic and beautiful but also functional, comfortable, and sustainable.”— Robert Srote, Architect - Srote & Co Architects
The kitchen offers a bold contrast in a graphic black-and-white palette. Dual islands form the heart of the space, paired with a custom mural backsplash from Italy that serves as both art and focal point behind the cook range. A sculptural grid light fixture — painted to match the walls and suspended from brass straps — mirrors the geometry of the room while echoing the brass accents of the custom range hood. Programmable lighting in the tray ceiling allows for dynamic mood shifts, adding another dimension to the kitchen’s visual impact.
Throughout the home, lighting is treated not just functionally but as artwork in its own right. In the primary bathroom, for example, tulip-shaped glass pendants add elegance and whimsy, complementing one of the home’s most unique features: shower doors that open directly to the outdoors.
Outside, the centerpiece of the backyard is the captivating “Sky-Fall,” a rear water feature requested by the homeowner that transports water from the roof via a cantilevered steel beam system, releasing it into a rain curtain that flows into the pool below. With open sky above and mirrored water below, this tranquil feature provides both visual drama and a meditative ambience, completing the home’s sensory experience.
