“The most important factor for us is to design to the human scale.”— Clete Kunce, Architect - One 10 Studio Architects
A dining room, set off from the main living area, features lowered ceilings to create an intimate, cozy space — this area quickly became a favorite spot for family meals and meaningful conversations.
Beyond the kitchen, a one-story wing with the vegetated roof contains a transitional, multifunction space that includes a laundry area and a pool bathroom. This serves as a convenient entry point for both the family and pool guests, effectively adding a “pool house” within the square footage of the home.
The serene primary suite awaits at the end of this wing, while the children’s bedrooms are situated off a shared loft space on the second floor. The homeowner’s office — and refuge — is accessed from the second-floor bridge; abundant natural light and views permeate through interior full-height glass.
By balancing contemporary architecture with respect for the surrounding neighborhood, the home is both a modern reflection of the family’s vision and a harmonious addition to the community. In the end, the project exemplifies a win-win scenario: a beautiful, functional home that benefits both the family and their neighbors.
