Stacy Graubart— Interior Designer
“The color palette for this house was inspired by the outdoors. I used creams to resemble the sand and blues to mimic the shades of the ocean. I wanted the transition from outside to inside to be seamless.”
— Stacy Graubart, interior designer
Before she could even walk, Houston-based interior designer, Stacy Graubart, founder of SG Designs, has been immersed in the world of design. She had the good fortune to have a mother with a keen eye for design and extraordinary taste—the finest Stacy has ever known—who enthusiastically shared her talents with her daughter. With a hands-on approach, Stacy’s mom fostered her passion for all things design related, from antiquing to driving around viewing architecturally interesting homes.
After graduating from Vanderbilt, Stacy studied design in Paris, later making her way to Sotheby’s London to study furniture and design. Although Stacy’s varied career journey took her through successful years in the costume design industry for film and television, in which she was nominated for an Emmy, eventually Stacy’s true love called. And for more than 20 years, she has concentrated on high-end residential design and renovation, specializing in designing livable homes.
She relishes the process of getting to know her clients and being able to build them a house that caters to their specific needs. The first step in beginning a project for Stacy is understanding how client’s live: my job is to create a place where my clients can be their best selves and live their best lives—whatever that means to them.
Stacy believes your home “should reflect all the places you’ve been, the memories you’ve made, and the experiences that defined your life. For each of my clients, this will look different, therefore, I always include pieces that are meaningful or reference people, places and things that are cherished.”
