Kari McIntosh Dawdy — Interior Designer

“I believe that the house tells you what it wants to be.”

Kari McIntosh Dawdy, interior designer

An Excerpt from “/be-spok/[bespoke]: a philosophy of beauty” by Beth Benton Buckley:

She might have been the only woman in her high school drafting class, but Kari McIntoshDawdy didn’t let that intimidate her away from a career in architecture. The field’s copious amounts of math and science, however, steered her toward a business degree, and after a successful run in event planning for JPMorgan Chase, Kari knew it was time to revisit her passion for design.

The skills she cultivated in her former industry serve her well today in the project management sense, and Kari gets to combine them with a finely honed sense of space planning and an eye for patterns. She strongly believes that design should be rooted in the senses: touch (texture), sight (art and color), sound (nature and plants), and smell (flowers, candles, andeven the fireplace).
