Erica Ortiz Berke— Interior Designer

“The goal of this project was to restore this Santa Fe home to the stunning and functional historic gem it was meant to be, while overcoming a former 1970s renovation. The homeowner was over the moon about the property, which he had just purchased and was relocating from Dallas to Santa Fe to fulfill a lifelong dream.”

Erica Ortiz Berke, interior designer

Erica Ortiz Berke of Santa Fe-based NeuBleu Interior Design believes that the path to good design begins with measured and informed thought. In fact, after spending quality time with her clients to get a good sense of their personal style and determine their goals, Erica spends two to three weeks thoughtfully considering every aspect of the project before ever setting pen to paper.

Not only is NeuBleu a full-service shop, handling all services of interior design for residential and commercial projects— from conception to completion—it also boasts Erica’s wealth of experience and knowledge, including an advantageous background that organically influences her work. A Santa Fe native, Erica has also lived in the San Francisco Bay Area as well as Denver—where she received her degree in interior design from the University of Colorado School of Design—she culls the confluence of distinct designs cultivated from different parts of the country. She’s inspired on every level by travel, different foods, cultures, art, people and of course, architecture.

“I believe that the best design is exceptionally planned to be aesthetically pleasing, yet functional. I love the challenge to accomplish this balance. I try not to set constraints on the design because rules are made to be broken, and ultimately, I will do whatever is needed to uncover the very best design.”
