Craig McMahon— Architect

“A sign of a successful home is the sense of curiosity to look closer and learn more about it.”

Craig McMahon, architect

The three-bedroom main house is complemented by a car barn that any gearhead would drool over, and the guest house a “mini-me” of the main home that offers a hotel-like experience for anyone lucky enough to be invited to stay.

Another lucky inhabitant is sadly no longer with the family, but his presence informed one unique design decision. Hobbes, the Instagram-famous cat, received his own outside door in the combination laundry room and guest bathroom so he could come and go as he pleased and rule where he wanted.

Having relocated from the West Coast, the homeowners were naturally inclined toward a more modern sensibility. At first the subdivision’s design committee was concerned about the envelope being pushed too far, but upon seeing the completed home they deemed it the ideal example of the style and an exemplar for all modern homes going forward.
