Tim Cuppett & Dave Kilpatrick — Architects

“We are happy with the forms in the broader landscape, and most importantly, that our clients are as well.”

Tim Cuppett, architect

Exterior fir siding, sandstone foundation, and a standing seam metal roof finish the exterior, while an interior material palette of painted wood walls and stone floors are intended to welcome people and their four-legged friends from dirt roads and the unmanicured landscape. The home utilizes common sense passive sustainability practices: cross ventilation, a ventilated tower which draws air into and up through the house, a screened porch, and wide overhangs.

While we all appreciate the architectural projects and the unique designs they inspire, we must also bear in mind that every home does — or should — hold future dreams and hopes. Prairie House is no exception: The homeowners built their home away from the city with plans of starting a family and living their days among the tumbling landscape
