Renée LeJeune Hallberg— Interior Designer

“The star of this lakefront sunroom is the idyllic, sweeping views of Lake Minnetonka. The room’s textures and colors are kept intentionally light, with a punctuation of navy — an unobtrusive palette, welcoming the outside in.”

Renée LeJeune Hallberg, interior designer

For Minneapolis, Minnesota Interior Designer Renée LeJeune Hallberg, every project begins with a keen eye for observing the obvious signals down to the little nuances, as well as a desire to really hear the clients. Renée will never just listen and design a lovely aesthetic to simply fit the space. Rather, the driving desire for her clients is more authentic: to “brand” the space just for them.

“I begin by listening to my clients’ needs, wants and descriptions of what their vision is, what they like and dislike. I take my cues from the way they dress, how they currently live and the style of their current home. Having said this, I am always operating with an updated, but timeless and classic bent for all my specifications and selections. Inspiration is all around us, from travels, interior design and fashion publications — as well as Pinterest and Instagram.”

Aside from the pragmatic business side, which includes time frame, budget, logistics, Renée always asks for any inspiration from photos and how the client likes to live. Are the photos formal or casual? Are we designing spaces for children or pets — or both? Once she understands their style and budget, the direction is informed and the work begins.

Renée also relies on a gut instinct, “The architectural bones dictate the interior design. When the two are not bridged, I feel the distraction. I do however take the organic journey as I am searching for fabrics or wall covering. Sometimes I don’t know what I am looking for, but I know it when I see it.”

And the results are simply magical.
