Bailey Austin Bird— Interior Designer
“My client loves mustard yellow and she wanted to reflect that in her home through the artwork and interior accents. The master bedroom and bathroom were designed to be a peaceful retreat, welcoming in the beauty of the outdoors. Both spaces also feature punches of her favorite color in beautiful art pieces and decor..”
— Bailey Austin Bird, interior designer
Based in her hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bailey Austin Bird is fortunate enough to have been inspired by the beautiful landscapes among which she grew up—and returned to after college and her job with Pelli Clarke Pelli in New York. Upon returning to Tulsa in 2011, Bailey has continued to make a name for herself as one of the top interior designers, not just in Oklahoma, but also in the country.
“I start all of my projects by understanding each client’s functional needs and addressing those items first. Then I layer the aesthetics on top of the function. I have always been a form follows function gal, and it’s an absolute investment in my clients and in my development as a designer: getting to know them with a deep level of intimacy takes time.”
Bailey lovingly put her heart and designing soul into this Denver home because it just happened to be built and designed for the family of a dear college friend. Using this 15-year friendship as a foundation, Bailey had great insight into day-to-day life for the family. Making any family’s daily routine a bit more seamless is always the goal—and this project was certainly no different.
In fact, she quips that the family is lucky she didn’t decide to move in: “I love this home so much. It resonates with my personal style more than any project I have completed since going out on my own 10 years ago. Since we designed the entire house from the footings to the dish towel, it truly stayed within our original concept from day one.”
